McDonald's plans to offer free wi-fi at most of their locations.
This would have been a game changer for us on our trip west this summer. We left home intending to use free internet where available for planing purposes, but hot spots turned out being few and far between. Motels proved to be the most reliable source, but they petered out as we closed in on California. Keeping up a daily blog entries became impossible.
Things would have been very different with free wi-fi at Mikkey D's on nearly every corner and exit across the US.
